Nagako Fujita - Copper & Tin Round Plate Small

$128.00

Product name: Copper & Tin Round Plate Small

Artist: Nagako Fujita (藤田永子)

Material: Copper & tin

Dimension: Dia18cm x H1.5cm

Features: with uniquely hand-hammered features on different sides. Each piece is one-off and has different expressions.

Care instructions:

- Metal is a material that changes beautifully over time. Nagako would be happy if you could enjoy the changing expressions in a relaxed manner, like the way the colour soaks into ceramics, the way a leather wallet becomes glossy, or the way a linen dress becomes softer.

- You can use it by placing food on it. Foods that contain salt or acid tend to discolour more quickly. If you are concerned, please use it to place dry items. When you firstly start to use the piece, you may be surprised that the discolouration may only occur on certain spots. As you use it over and over again, you'll get used to it. And, the natural changes result an unique look that you can't create on purpose. It's the beauty of owning and using one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces.

- You can wash the brass pieces with dish detergent. If you want to minimize discolouration, wash and wipe immediately after use. If you want to reset the discolouration, apply vinegar or ketchup to the surface and leave it alone. Then rinse with water and be sure to scrub vigorously with baking soda.
